Our first time was so freaking magical!!! You transport when you enter. We had Joel and they are so patient, attentive, efficient and talented. They had live music with a lovely and talented songstress and the menu is so extensive that YOU must return to try more of their seemingly endless delicious and colorful menu! The margarita was like like I was right back in Mexico and they have valet parking and fantastic mocktails and even a photographer on site!

Incredibly colorful and lively restaurant that serves up broad range of ethic specials. Queso very stretchy and cheesy. Homemade tortillas and hearty portions. Service is quick and drinks come gigante. Valet parking is available since neighborhood parking is tough. Overall, good food for family outing.

My experience with Joan was amazing. He was very attentive and a great server. Would definitely recommend him to serve your table. The food was spectacular and the atmosphere was very fun. Not to the mention the beautiful decorations inside the restaurant.

Our first time at La Fortaleza, and it was amazing! The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were great, and the presentation of everything was beautiful. Karen was fantastic her suggestions for both food and drinks were spot on and did not disappoint at all. She made the whole experience even better. We will definitely be coming back!

La Fortaleza in Clifton, NJ has incredible aesthetics — it reminded me of a Día de Los Muertos-themed Mexican restaurant! The drinks were great, especially the margaritas and mojitos. I tried the fajitas with veggies, an enchilada, and the queso — all were good, though the food overall was decent, slightly underwhelming compared to the ambiance. A fun spot for drinks and a visually stunning experience!

I’ve never tried Mexican food before so my family took me to this spot when I visited New Jersey. The receptionist could not find our reservation, but we were seated very quickly. My first impression of the place was it was very uniquely decorated. There are lots of places where you can take pictures as seen in the pictures I provided. I chose to try some beef quesadillas. The food was not bad at all and I would definitely visit again to try something else. Service was quick… the most interesting part for me if there are any birthdays they would come in with drums and a cake with fireworks on it, which I found very funny and there were several of those all night. I even attached the video of one of them. The kid looks so embarrassed. It was so funny. I love the glowing paint and the decoration of the place and it’s just so unique. Will be trying to steak next time.
